2016-09-27 - We found a plot!
After years of searching for a house or plot, we finally found this. The weather wasn't good but we knew that the views were awesome...
At that time we were able to walk around freely on the first and second terrace.
Up until now, we never saw the third terrace. That's something to discover when we live there...
2019-09-11 - Preparation of the plot, before and after
3 years later it has transformed into a jungle, but the shovel did a good job.
Now they can start building.
This is our view on a sunny day:

Now there's power for the crane.
2019-09-11 - Level -1 has been excavated
You can see the 2 main layers of soil; the upper one is relatively soft but the lower one is suitable to support the foundation.
2019-09-13 - Bad soil...
Normally the foundation is placed on the soil but in this case that was partly a soft layer, so holes were dug down to the hard layer to be filled with concrete 'shoes'.
"Over there, bad soil!"
2019-09-13 - Finally: WATER!
In addition to electricity, water was a prerequisite for starting the construction. This too was applied for in May.
The main pipe was found under the road:
2019-09-13 - The crane is set up and ready for action
It serves to move all materials and pour concrete.
We could see the crane from far, from our holiday home...:

2019-09-19 - First concrete
That day, 2 full loads of concrete would be poured, just for the base of the foundation.
In the end, the construction will be like this:
2019-09-19 - Depositing a base for the basement
A thin layer of concrete is poured (perfectly leveled) as a base on the soil and concrete shoes, the rebar and formwork will be made on top of it:
When it's hardened, the real work can begin.
2019-09-20 - Rebar for pillars etc.
First the ground beams and reinforced shoes are poured, then the floor is poored, the wall sections are built between the rebars and finally the pillars are poured between the wall sections.
2019-09-23 - All the rebars for the basement are ready
The formwork is being built.
You can also see the preparation for the massive rear wall which will support a major part of the house:
2019-09-23 - Sewers for the basement are in place
Later they will be joined to the sewers from the ground floor that lead to the septic tanks.

2019-10-11 - The casco for the basement has been built!
Preparations for the ground floor (= basement ceiling) are being made.

All door and window openings are visible now.

2019-11-23 - The ends are up.
The construction of the roof should start soon.

The reinforced sloping beams for the roof are made.
2020-01-03 - The roof 's almost on!
The builders started early this morning, the construction is already finished, putting plates on.
